Our editorial approach

We help English-speaking readers discover Chinese-language books through summaries, context and recommendations. Each book offers an individual author's perspective; it does not represent all Chinese people or a single national viewpoint.

Our English guides are developed from commissioned Chinese summaries using AI-assisted translation followed by editorial review. We aim to preserve meaning, check names and terminology, distinguish source arguments from our commentary and credit books, authors and contributors. They are selective reading guides, not full translations, and readers should consult the original book for its complete argument.

Only guides that have completed our editorial review are made readable. Unedited selections appear as cover-and-title previews. Published guides show publication and update timestamps. We correct material errors and explain substantial corrections in the guide when appropriate.

Independence and rights

Unless expressly stated, SinoChapter is not endorsed by or affiliated with the authors or publishers of the books discussed. Names and titles identify the source works. Our commissioned scripts and original cover designs do not by themselves establish permission to use all underlying book material.

If you believe content infringes your rights, email the page URL, the work and material concerned, your relationship to the rights holder, and enough information for us to assess the issue. We review substantiated concerns and may correct, restrict or remove material while investigating. Please do not send unnecessary personal documents.

Corrections and accessibility

For a correction, identify the page and passage, describe the issue and provide a reliable source if available. For an accessibility problem, describe the page, device/browser and the barrier you encountered. We review reports and work to improve the reading experience.
